"BREAKING THE SEAL OF HEAVEN"

1 Kings 18:33-35, 38, 41, 45 NKJV
[33] And he put the wood in order, cut the bull in pieces, and laid it on the wood, and said, "Fill four waterpots with water, and pour it on the burnt sacrifice and on the wood."
[34] Then he said, "Do it a second time," and they did it a second time; and he said, "Do it a third time," and they did it a third time.
[35] So the water ran all around the altar; and he also filled the trench with water.
[38] Then the fire of the LORD fell and consumed the burnt sacrifice, and the wood and the stones and the dust, and it licked up the water that was in the trench.

sound of abundance of rain."
The Bible is full of mysteries. the more you read it the more you discover it.. If you read a passage today and get a mysteries, if you come back to that same passage, you may be amazed that the passage may give you another view different from the one you have known before. The mysteries are like a mighty sea. You can not finish exploring them.
Going through the story of Elijah, I kept on discovering mysteries after mysteries. I got a touching one I would like to share in this post.
The land of Israel had been under sever famine for more than three years. The brooks and rivers had dried up and there was no grass for the animals to feed. The heaven had been sealed up and there had been no rain at all. Everything was dry. God was angry with the land because they had forsaken Him to serve Baal.
Elijah had commanded Ahab to call all the prophets of Baal and the Priests of Asherah on to Mount Carmel to prove to all Israel who the true God was: whether it was the Baal or the God of Israel. And Ahab had called up all Israel and the prophets of Baal upon the mountain. They had all gathered and the 450 prophets of Baal had assembled, standing against Elijah the prophet of God. There was only one test to prove the true God: the God that answered by fire upon the altar of slaughtered bull, shall be the true God.
So the prophets of Baal killed their own bull first, cut it into pieces and laid it on the altar and began their chanting from the morning till evening, calling their god to send fire upon the alter and consume the offering, but there was no response from it. Their time was up. Israel was fed up with them, let Elijah come up and call the name of his own God too. So, Elijah arranged another altar, put the woods in order, killed the bull and cut it in pieces. He laid the pieces on the altar and the people watched. They watched how he would call down fire from the sky. THEN, ELIJAH DID THE MOST ABSURD THING: instead of calling fire down, he ordered water to be poured on the offering upon the altar and around the altar. Then, he dug a trench around the altar and commanded water to be poured on the offering till the trench was running with water all around the altar. Altogether, four potful of water were poured upon the altar three times to make a total of 12 pots full of water poured on the offering upon the altar. The people were astonished. They were looking for fire, he drenched the altar with water.
Then, he prayed.
1 Kings 18:37-39 NKJV
[37] Hear me, O LORD, hear me, that this people may know that You are the LORD God, and that You have turned their hearts back to You again."
[38] Then the fire of the LORD fell and consumed the burnt sacrifice, and the wood and the stones and the dust, and it licked up the water that was in the trench.
[39] Now when all the people saw it, they fell on their faces; and they said, "The LORD, He is God! The LORD, He is God!"
The most interesting thing about this whole episode was that, not that the fire came down alone, BUT THE FIRE CONSUMED EVERYTHING ON THE ALTAR AND LICKED UP THE WATER THAT WAS FLOWING AROUND THE TRENCH.
That was where I was going....THE FIRE LICKED UP THE WATER and there was no water on the altar or around the altar again. THE WATER EVAPORATED UP.
And after all the prophets of Baal had been killed, Elijah had said to king Ahab:
1 Kings 18:41 NKJV
"Go up, eat and drink; for there is the sound of abundance of rain."
THE SKY RUMBLED WITH A PREGNANCY OF HEAVY WATER...IMMEDIATELY AFTER THE WATER ON THE ALTAR HAD EVAPORATED!
I learnt in my secondary school, that when water evaporates, the vapour go up into the sky to form the water that pour down upon us as rainfall.
Probably it was the evaporated water from the altar that provoked the divine massive evaporation from the sea and the sky turned black in a short while:
1 Kings 18:44 NKJV
Then it came to pass the seventh time, that he said, "There is a cloud, as small as a man's hand, rising out of the sea!" So he said, "Go up, say to Ahab, 'Prepare your chariot, and go down before the rain stops you.'"
And in a little while, the black sky of pregnant cloud delivered a heavy downpour of rain the way it had never happened in more than three years.
1 Kings 18:45 NKJV
Now it happened in the meantime that the sky became black with clouds and wind, and there was a heavy rain. So Ahab rode away and went to Jezreel.
This is a simple law of nature: WHAT GOES UP MUST COME DOWN.
By divine inspiration, Elijah ordered the altar to be drenched with twelve pots full of water, running around the trench of the altar. By divine wisdom he knew that when the fire LICKED UP the water, it will provoke the DIVINE EVAPORATION FROM THE SEA and cause the sky to be black with pregnant cloud. This excite me a lot. What would I call this...? Biblical Geography? Or Biblical Meteorological Science? The Word of God is full of wisdom.
Now, I found this to be one of the secret of this Year of Great Things: There was famine in Israel and everywhere was dry. The boy with five loaves of Bread and two fishes submitted his on the altar and it evaporated and rained down volumes of bread and fishes that fed five thousand men without counting women and children; the widow of Zarephath placed her handful of flour and little oil on the altar and they evaporated to become a rainfall that fed all her household for many months.
About three ago, while we were having our end of the year retreat in Mount Zion, the Lord brought this same illustration before us, and commanded us to pour water on the altar of God as Elijah had done on Mount Carmel. He commanded us all in the ministry to empty our purse and pockets and accounts on His altar, and every one of us took his or her money to the Lord at that year's Cross-Over Night and placed them in offering bags in various places the Lord had led each of us. The offering was not dropped in our ministry. The Lord made us to understand that: AN EVAPORATED OFFERING FROM THE ALTAR PRODUCES SOUND OF ABUNDANCE OF RAIN.
Through out this year, you must have water you would cast upon the Altar, if you must conitnuously hear Sounds of the Abundance of Rain that would translate into a heavy downpour of divine blessing and Breakhrough. You must keep the Altar of the Lord wet with offerings...Then, there will continually be Sounds of Abundance of Rain upon your head.
Keep the ground active with seeds...and there will be continuous Harvesting into your barns...
May the Lord give you abundance of Rain and Bountiful Harvesting in times like these.
