"FALLING FOR MANY...STANDING FOR MANY"

DRAMA MINISTERS "YEAR OF GREAT THINGS"

DRAMA MINISTERS' 40 DAYS PRAYERS AND FASTING - DAY 6
(January 1 - February 9, 2015)

"FALLING FOR MANY...STANDING FOR MANY"
Joshua 7:24-25 NKJV
[24] Then Joshua, and all Israel with him, took Achan the son of Zerah, the silver, the garment, the wedge of gold, his sons, his daughters, his oxen, his donkeys, his sheep, his tent, and all that he had, and they brought them to the Valley of Achor.
[25] And Joshua said, "Why have you troubled us? The LORD will trouble you this day." So all Israel stoned him with stones; and they burned them with fire after they had stoned them with stones.
Numbers 25:10-13 NKJV
[10] Then the LORD spoke to Moses, saying:
[11] "Phinehas the son of Eleazar, the son of Aaron the priest, has turned back My wrath from the children of Israel, because he was zealous with My zeal among them, so that I did not consume the children of Israel in My zeal.
[12] Therefore say, 'Behold, I give to him My covenant of peace;
[13] and it shall be to him and his descendants after him a covenant of an everlasting priesthood, because he was zealous for his God, and made atonement for the children of Israel.'"
When the people of Israel were journeying in the wilderness, they came to Acacia Grove and camped there in the land of Moab. Then, the people of Israel began to commit adolatory and immorality with the Moabites, going to their visit and bow at their shrines, committing immorality with their ladies. The Lord became furious with them and struck them with a terrible plague. They began to die and this prompted them to gather in an assembly to plead with God. They were in the solemn assembly when one Israelite brought in one of the ladies of Moab into the camp of Israel.
He passed through the assembly and took the lady into his tent to the astonishment of the gathering crowd. In jealous zeal for God, Phinehas, the son of Eleazar, the son of son of Aaron the Priest rose up in anger, walked into the tent of the man and thrust both of them through with his sword...and this act of Godly jealousy and anger turned the wrath of God away from the people of Israel. God was very pleased with Phinehas and made a covenant with him and his children yet unborn...a covenant of everlasting priesthold.
THE STANDING OF PHINEHAS EARNED HIS DESCENDANTS AN EVERLASTING PRIESTHOOD BEFORE THE LORD GOD.
Here is another story:
2 Kings 5:25-27 NKJV
Now he went in and stood before his master. Elisha said to him, "Where did you go, Gehazi?" And he said, "Your servant did not go anywhere."
[26] Then he said to him, "Did not my heart go with you when the man turned back from his chariot to meet you? Is it time to receive money and to receive clothing, olive groves and vineyards, sheep and oxen, male and female servants?
[27] Therefore the leprosy of Naaman shall cling to you and your descendants forever." And he went out from his presence leprous, as white as snow.
In another Biblical instance, Namaan, the Syrian General had come to Elisha for healing of his leaprosy. In a miraculous way, the servant of God, Elisha, had healed him by making him to wash in Jordan River. The army General had come to give Elisha gifts of money and clothes, but Elisha refused the gifts of Namaan and had released him to go without collecting anything.
Gehazi became unhappy that his master had not collected the gift from the army general. He ran after him and collected the gifts from the man and came back into the house to hide it somewhere. As he stood before the prophet, he lied that he had not been to anywhere, then the Prophet declared to him that the leprousy of Namaan would cling unto him and his descendants forever.
THE FALLING OF GEHAZI EARNED HIS CHILDREN YET UNBORN AND DESCENDANTS A CURSE BEFORE THE LORD FOREVER.
Trully, the Word of God has declared that the father would not eat a sour grape and the children's teeth suffer the consequences, but the children still suffers the consequences of their parent's unrighteous acts today.
It was Achan who sinned and stole from the City of Jericho, but all his children and wife including, even, his goats, sheeps, and his material properties were stoned and burnt to death. This frightens me a lot, to realize that....
THE CHILDREN AND FAMILY WILL EAT THE BLESSINGS OF THE OBEDIENCE OF THEIR PARENTS...
AND THE CHILDREN AND FAMILY WILL PARTAKE OF THE CONSEQUENCES OF DISOBEDIENCE OF THEIR PARENTS.
The implications of all these is that, YOU ARE NOT ON YOUR OWN WHEN YOU DISOBEYED THE LORD...A LOT OF PEOPLE WITH YOUR CHILDREN MAY TAKE PART IN THE CONSEQUENCES OF YOUR DISOBEDIENCE....
AND WHEN YOU CHOSE TO OBEY THE LORD AND FOLLOW HIM,...YOU ARE DOING ALL YOUR CHILDREN AND FAMILY A GREAT FAVOUR, BECAUSE THEY WILL ALL REAP OUT OF THE FRUITS OF YOUR LOYALTY TO GOD.
The faithfulness of Joseph brought all his family from the land of famine into the palace of Pharaoh. If Abraham had not followed the Lord, Isaac and Jacob would not have had any Canaan land to possess as inheritance.
YOUR FAITHFULNESS TO GOD WILL SURELY DETERMINE THE BLESSINGS OF YOUR CHILDREN..AND A LOT PEOPLE AROUND YOU. When next you want to chose to disobey the Lord or compromise your faith, because you think it is all about you alone, No. Think about your children or your close relatives and people around you.
IMPORTANTLY, THINK OF THE LIVES YOU WERE CREATED TO INFLUENCE AND IMPACT....THNIK OF ALL THOSE COMING BEHIND YOU AND LOOKING ON TO YOU FOR DIRECTIONS.
A little compromise and act of unrighteousness or sin is never only about you alone...but also about a lot of people including your children and family.
That was the mistake of Achan.
And that was the gain of Phinehas.
